1. Chemex
Brew time: 3:30
Materials: Chemex 6-Cup Brewer, Chemex Filter, Digital Scale, Kettle, Timer
Dose: 23-24g (Depending on roast of coffee)
Grind: 7 (Coarsest)
Weigh out and grind coffee
Place Chemex filter in brewer, pour hot water through filter and into the brewer in order to wash the filter and pre-heat the Chemex
Place the 3-layer side of the filter towards the side with the spout
Empty water
Place ground coffee in filter
Put Chemex on the digital scale and tare
Pour in 2oz of hot water over coffee, let bloom for 45 sec
In a circular motion (inside out) pour 5oz of water. Allow water to drain completely
Pour 5oz of water (outside in)
Let drain
Serve
Tips:
The 3-sided half of the filter helps absorb the impurities that may be in the coffee
The darker the roast, the lighter the dose
2. Hario V60
Brew Time: 3:00
Materials: Hario V60 Brewer, Hario Pitcher, Filter (#2), Digital Scale, Kettle, Timer
Dose: 26g
Grind: 3.5
Weigh out and grind coffee
Crimp filter and place in the V60 cone
Wash filter with hot water and preheat the pitcher
Empty pitcher, add grounds to the V60 cone
Put the brewer on the digital scale and tare
Pour 2oz hot water into the grounds (ensure all grounds are saturated)
Let bloom for 45 sec
Begin pouring water in a circular motion
The pour stream should be light, but steady
Keep the water level ~1cm below the rim of the brewer
When the scale reaches 12oz, stop pouring
Let drain
Serve
Tips:
When pouring, take a towel and hold the bottom of the kettle, it will give you more control over the pour stream consistency
3. French Press
Brew Time: 4:00
Materials: French Press, Hario Pitcher, Digital Scale, Kettle, Timer
Dose: 22g
Grind: 4.5-6 depending on the roast
Weigh out and grind coffee
Place coffee in the French Press
Put French Press on the digital scale and tare
Add 6oz of hot water
Let bloom for 1 min
Agitate grounds
Add 6oz hot water
Place cover on container (do not press plunger down), sit until timer reaches 3:00
Plunge for ~1:00
Serve
Tips:
Do not let the coffee sit in the French Press too long after you finish plunging, it may lead to a bitter, over extracted coffee
4. Aeropress
Brew Time: 2:30
Materials: Aeropress, Aeropress Paper Filter, Agitator, Digital Scale, Kettle, Timer
Dose: 28g
Grind: 2
Weigh out and grind coffee
Place Aeropress filter in the filter cap and rinse with hot water
Invert Aeropress, add ground coffee
Add hot water until the level reaches the (2)
Let bloom for 45 sec
Agitate vigorously for 10 sec to ensure all grounds are saturated
Add water up to the (1)
Sit for 45 sec
Agitate again for 10 sec
Attach filter cap, spin at an angle
Extract (~40 sec)

Tips:
For a dose of ground coffee use one scoop; if whole bean, use two scoops
5. Clever
Brew time: 3:00 – 4:00
Materials: Clever Brewer, Filter (#4), Digital Scale, Kettle, Timer
Dose: 28g
Grind: 4 – 5 depending on the roast
Weigh out and grind coffee
Crimp bottom and side of filter and place in Clever brewer
Fill brewer with hot water, let drain
Add ground coffee
Begin pouring water, while pouring agitate the grounds
Once full, put on cover
Steep for 2-3 min
Place on top of cup
Release (30 to 60 sec)
Serve
Tips:
The lighter the roast, use a finer grind to help extract more flavor from the coffee
