Hailing from the lush, high-altitude slopes of the Northern Andean Rainforest, this coffee is a product of the Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera (CAC) Bagua Grande. Established in 1979 to empower smallholder farmers against local intermediaries, this co-op has grown into a pillar of the Amazonas region. By uniting hundreds of families, they ensure fair wages and reinvest in sustainable farming technologies that protect the delicate Amazonian ecosystem. These traditional Arabica varieties thrive in volcanic soil shaded by native trees, benefiting from a slow maturation process that packs every bean with dense, sugar-heavy complexity.

Roasting Exceptional Coffee Since 1982

A Legacy Born in Her Kitchen. A Roast Perfected in Ours.

Forty-five years ago, Bonjo Coffee wasn’t a business—it was a memory. Our story begins with the hum of a stovetop and the unmistakable aroma of my grandmother’s kitchen. She didn’t just brew coffee; she created a moment of sanctuary. It was her warmth, her high standards, and her belief that "good enough" never was, that sparked the fire in me to start roasting.

Today, Bonjo Coffee Roasters remains a family-anchored landmark in Stamford, CT. We’ve taken those old-world values—patience, quality, and heart—and brought them into the modern era. As a multi-generational roastery, we bridge the gap between my grandmother's timeless inspiration and the precision of today’s specialty coffee.

From our signature Miscela Bar and Classica to our micro-lot single origins, every bean is roasted to honor her legacy. We are still a family business, now led by the next generation, ensuring that the same care my grandmother put into a single cup is found in every bag we ship.

Bonjo Coffee: Legendarily Roasted. Locally Loved. Grandmother Approved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Grind Preference do I write ?

Please let us know how you plan to brew your coffee so we can grind it perfectly for your setup! You can write Drip for standard auto-drip coffee makers. If you use an espresso machine, just write Espresso. For a coarse grind, you can write French Press or Cold Brew, and for a medium to medium-fine grind, let us know if it is for a Pour Over, Aeropress, or Moka Pot.

If you leave this field blank: Don't worry! We will automatically apply our default grinds based on the coffee type. All standard blends and single origins will default to a Drip grind, while all dedicated espresso blends will automatically be ground for Espresso.
